Today, I introduce a huge cave that we can taste an adventure feeling easily.
It is here in the edge of hilly areas in southwestern Slovenia.
We visited here on August 31.
今日は、手軽に冒険気分が味わえる巨大な洞窟を紹介します。
ここはスロベニア南西部の丘陵地帯の端にあります。
８月３１日、私たちはここを訪れました。

I had a lunch in the right building.
右側の建物で、昼食をとりました。
About Postojna Cave
There are 10,000 limestone caves in Slovenia, and 550,000 people visit this Europe's biggest cave annually.
The etymology of “Karst” comes from an ancient name of this area, and I was amazed at how much there are limestones on the mountain surface when I went around Slovenia and Croatia by bus.
There is 20 km in the total extension of this cave, the sightseeing course is approximately 5 km, and we go sightseeing in the cave on only 1.3 km of this course by foot for approximately one hour.
We got on a train running for a round trip of 3.7 km of the cave.
I was excited most at it, and recommend it.
ポストイナ洞窟について
スロベニアには1万もの鍾乳洞があり、ヨーロッパ最大のこの洞窟には年間５５万人が訪れます。
カルストの語源は、この地方の古代名に由来し、スロベニアやクロアチアを巡っていると石灰岩の山肌が多いのに驚かされる。
この洞窟の総延長は２０ｋｍあり、観光コースは約５ｋｍで、そのうち１．３ｋｍを徒歩で約1時間かけて観光します。
私が最も興奮したのは、洞窟内の往復３．７ｋｍをトロッコで疾走したことでした。
これはお薦めです。

I did not expect it before riding, but it was really thrilling and fun.
I felt like I became a hero of "Indiana Jones" movie completely.
The train went into a tunnel that my head seemed to touch on the roof of, and ran through variable cave in the dark
The seats of the train were comfortable, but very cold wind of the cave hit a whole body.
A protection against cold is necessary absolutely.
予想していなかったのですが実にスリリングで楽しい。
まるでインディ・ジョーンズ「魔宮の伝説」の主人公にでもなった気分でした。
トロッコは頭が天井に当たりそうなトンネルを抜け、暗く変化のある洞窟内を走ります。
座りごごちの良いトロッコなのですが、冷たい風が全身に当たります。
防寒具は絶対に必要で、歩く時は脱げるようにした方が良いです。

There are not only ticket office, but also a hotel, souvenir shops, and restaurants in front street of the cave.
There are a watermill and a farmhouse in proximity to a big parking.
洞窟前の通りにはチケット売り場だけでなくホテルや土産物店、レストランが揃っています。
大きな駐車場との間に農家と水車小屋があった。

These photos of this cave are in order of sightseeing.
これら洞窟内の写真は観光順に並んでいます。
At first you will be overwhelmed by the huge size of the cave, and you will realize it when you go up and down the dark passage.
歩いていくと、先ず洞窟の大きさに圧倒され、次いで暗い通路を上り下りすることで、それを実感することになります。

Most are dark brown rocks, but sometimes you look at snow-white stalactite.
The photography of this cave is difficult.
There is little lighting for protecting creature in the cave, and there are weak spotlights only in important positions.
The photography is possible, but the flash is prohibition.
多くは茶褐色の岩肌なのですが、時には純白の鍾乳石に出会います。
この洞窟の写真撮影は難しい。
洞窟内の生物保護の為に照明がほとんど無く、要所要所に弱いスポットライトがあるだけです。
撮影は可能なのですが、フラッシュは禁止です。
中国桂林の鍾乳洞とは大違いです。

I could understand it was made with passing two million years when I looked at the big stone pillar.
大きな石柱を見ていると２００万年もの長大な年月もうなずけます。

Afterword
There are other highlights of sightseeing, but I could not take a photograph very well.
I also felt the strong posture of Slovenia for natural conservation here.
The train in the cave was electric drive.
This continues next time.
あとがき
他に見所もあり、変わったイモリもいるのですが、写真がうまく撮れませんでした。
ここでもスロベニアの自然保護の強い姿勢を感じました。
洞窟内の電車は電気駆動でした。
次回に続きます。
