Once upon a time, in a place, there was a pond where many tortoises had lived in.
昔々、ある所にたくさんの亀が暮らす池がありました。
Everybody had been living peacefully, but troubled thing was only one.
The reason was because of a small place on where they bask in the sun in peace.
God couldn't bear to see it, and then God floated two logs on the pond.
With delight, tortoises begin to climb it.
It is good when one tortoise is only riding on it.
But if everybody begins to climb it, a log turns turtle immediately.
Then all tortoises fall in the water.
皆、平和に暮らしていたのですが、一つ困ったことがありました。
それは安心して甲羅干しをする場所が小さかったことです。
それを見かねた神様が、池に二本の丸太を浮かべました。
亀達は喜んで、丸太に乗り上がろうとします。
一匹だけが乗っている時は良いのですが。
皆が登り始めると、丸太が直ぐ回転して、亀は皆、水の中に落ちてしまいます。
Soon, while they had been climbing it in competition with each other, emboldened tortoises began a quarrel.
“You are dirty. Because I have climbed it in first, go to another log!”
Even another log was the same.
“ Stupid guy go to another log, and this log is our thing! “
The peaceful pond became the noisy pond because tortoises cursed in each other.
やがて、血気盛んな亀達は、競って登ろうとする内に喧嘩を始めました。
「俺が先に登ったのだから、汚いお前は、もう一つの丸太に行け！」
もう一つの丸太でも同じでした。
「馬鹿な奴はあちらに行け、こちらは俺達のものだ！」
平和な池は罵り合う騒がしい池になりました。
God couldn't bear to see it, and then God said tortoise in the pond.
"I hear a wish of everyone only once again. This is the last.”
Emboldened tortoises ignored it and only had been climbing the logs.
Then one tortoise that dislikes competition said to God.
"Please God tie up two logs with a string"
God granted the request.
Then the competition quite disappeared.
Because two logs were tied up in parallel, it did not turn.
After that time, all tortoise of the pond came to be able to bask in the sun as much as they desired.
見かねた神様は、池の亀に言いました。
「皆、もう一度だけ、望みを聞いてあげる。これが最後だよ。」
血気盛んな亀達は、無視して、丸太を取り合っているだけでした。
すると、一匹の争いを嫌う亀が、神様に言いました。
「どうか二本の丸太を紐で縛っていただけませんか。」
神様はその要望を聞き入れました。
すると、争いはピッタリと無くなりました。
丸太が並行に縛られたので回転しなくなったのです。
この後、池の亀は好きなだけ甲羅干しが出来るようになりました。
